City Carpet in Augmented Reality

Using Snap’s Spectacles, I transformed this toy rug into an Augmented Reality prototype 🚗

Some technical details:

  • The lens works on smartphones (Snapchat), and on Spectacles
  • The rug is tracked using an Image Marker
  • No VFX or editing tricks were used – all recordings were made on an iPhone 12
  • The cars autonomously follow ‘points’ placed on the road, they avoid:
    • collisions
    • red lights
    • police sirens
