I wanted to make a nostalgic, webcore-themed desktop app to customize your computer. It ended up becoming Sparkle Mouse, a project that I spent way too much time on :)

It draws pretty particles for desktop and web, and it comes with a lot of settings.

Fully customizable, you can even use your own images and GIFs.

GPU-optimized and open source on github!

The app’s UI looks like Windows XP, because I thought that would be funny. Thanks to XP.css.

Sparkle Mouse UI

Sparkle Mouse runs on Windows and Mac (itch.io and Steam), it’s an npm package (sparkle-mouse), a Wordpress plugin, and a JS bundle.

Here’s an example of the JS bundle running on a Neocities site!

The desktop app can be controlled via CLI and HTTP API.
